Katie’s love of sewing/arts and crafts started when she was 14 years old and her mom teaching her plastic canvas, cloth dolls, soft animals, and making her own outfits. It wasn’t until a year later that she began her journey into quilting when her mom helped her to make her first quilt from the small wreath pattern out of the book ” Quick Watercolor Quilts” by Dina Pappas.
Over the years her quilting evolved to include both hand/machine applique, crazy quilting and traditional patchwork from various quilting patterns, books, online classes, and even her own designs.
From the Fall of 2016 through till the end of 2019, both my mom and I, along with several talented quilters who came on board from all over the world started our very own online quilting magazine called “Our Quilting Journey” which was published on Magcloud.
In the last couple of years since the magazine ended, I have been keeping busy working on both new cloth doll and quilt patterns, teaching online classes, longarm quilting and ruler work.
